Good morning and welcome

Because you're one of the first ones to read this prose -- and I hope that this won't prompt you to run by the hills?

So why have I started this? Well, it was a shower idea.

I love my sports. A lot. It's where I get my kicks. I don't gamble (Reasons: I'm easily addicted, I hate losing money, and I lost money betting spreads on college football), but I love betting mentally as to what will happen.

I love sports because of its unpredictablity, the ups and downs, the formats of teams, and the screams - both in the arenas and on social media - that combine "what a goal" with "HOW CAN YOU SCREAM THAT ONE UP".

But this is also why I love the business world and the stock market.

It's unpredictable.
It's fun.
It's wild.
It's you pitted against other pitted against a market.
It's actually having to read news.
It's using instincts and going again your baser ones.

That's why I want to write about both and try and entertain.

Also, there's other stuff I'm going to write about.

Books.
Movies.
News.
Life.

Some of it you'll agree with. Some of it you won't.

But I hope you'll keep on reading.

One of the biggest things happening this month around the world is Pride Month, where the LGBT (that’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual for you know don't know what it stands for) community get together to celebrate. It's a worldwide celebration, with every city holding its own parade celebrating same-sex love.  The history of the marches themselves goes back to the Stonewall marches when gay persons  who stayed at the LGBT-friendly Stonewall Inn in New York in 1969 got fed up with police raiding their hotels and others like them which were gay, bi or trans-friendly rioted against the persecution by police. Betting, Evils and QPR

People love wagering on the UK's biggest horse race: The Grand National. Even though it's generally a waste of time and money (if you win the office sweepstake it is a fluke). We know this  because £300m is wagered on the Aintree race  every year, and the bookies seem to win every time (although in 2019 there were some major losses after favourite Tiger Roll romped home to victory). But then again, everybody's getting rich from the betting game.  The TV industry  made around £200m from advertising sales  from bookmakers last year, and people – pushed on by the online technologies that mean that walking into a betting shop a thing of the past, that is driving up the volumes. Transcribing George Floyd's brother's interview

Here is an interview done for ABC with Terrance Floyd, the brother of George Floyd, who was murdered by police in Minneapolis, sparking days of rioting all over the United States.  In his interview, he tells people not to **** up the country.  Q: Is there any way to describe what the last week has been like for you?
